Mac desktop notes: pull one out and start writing

Pull one out, capture the thought
When an idea strikes, you shouldn't have to find the app, wait for it to launch, and create a document first. In Brim, move your cursor to the edge of the screen and a note peeks out — drag it, and the note is created. No launching, no switching apps, no switching desktops. It's always ready.
Two states: on the desktop, or tucked away
A Brim note has exactly two states: visible or stowed. Visible notes stay on the desktop, floating above other app windows; the ones you don't need right now go into the manager panel, keeping desktop noise down.
- Important but not urgent? Keep it within reach;
- Done with it for now? Stow it in the manager panel;
- Move, reorder, stow in batches, or hide everything — via shortcuts or the menu bar.
Formatting, kept to the essentials
A note isn't a document, and formatting shouldn't become a chore. In Brim, each kind of styling has exactly one job:
- Markdown handles lists: unordered, ordered, and to-dos;
- Tab handles 6 levels of indentation, mixed freely with lists;
- Shortcuts handle bold, strikethrough, underline, and highlight.
Requirements and the sync boundary
The Mac app requires macOS 15.0 or later (see minimum system versions and compatible devices). Notes live on the device by default and work fully offline; syncing with iPhone over iCloud is a Pro feature (see Mac and iPhone notes sync and Free vs. Pro).
