Tags and search: manage notes in a Spotlight-style panel
Brim organizes notes with # tags and a Spotlight-style manager panel — starred, recent, and everything else in three tiers; search text and tags, then click to jump straight to a note's desktop.
Type "#" and it's a tag
Type "#" anywhere in a note to tag it. Tags sit in their own area on the note — visible at a glance, never covering your text. The same tag can appear on any number of notes, because a tag is a global marker, not a folder: one note can carry several tags, and filtering by a tag later surfaces every note on that topic.
A Spotlight-style manager panel
Once notes pile up, there's no hunting across desktops. Brim's manager panel takes its cue from Spotlight: one floating panel for every note you have.
- Notes are laid out in three tiers — starred, recent, and everything else;
- Type text or a tag in the search field to filter;
- Click a result to jump straight to that note on its desktop.
When you're looking for a note, there's only one thing to remember: bring up the manager panel.
Images are attachments only
Images never take part in inline layout: each note can hold up to 3 images, marked with an icon; hover the icon for a preview, click to open the viewer. You focus on capturing — never on formatting.
Limits
